A fibre optic cable, also called an optical Fibre Optic Cable, is an assemble like an electrical cable, containing one or more glass fibers which are employed to transmit light. Light can be transmitted via the cables by using a technique called optical fibre optics, which involves the use of light to transmit data instead of electrical signals. The PVC core is generally manufactured from acrylic or polycarbonate, while the outer diameter is generally made from thermoplastic or fiberglass. The cladding is usually made from Teflon or other metal. The length and diameter of the fibre optic cable can affect the performance and cost of the cable. The longer the cables, the greater the speed and hence the higher the data transmission rate and hence the price of the Fibre Optic Cable.
