Instructions For Use With Fusion Splicer

  A Fibre glass or Omron Fusion Splicer is used for the joining and fusion of fiber optic cables in optical networks, computer network cables, and phone-line networks. A fiber optic cable is made up of a series of copper threads which are each connected to the next one by an optic cable conductor. When a fiber optic cable is used, it has a core which is the conductive core of the cable, the jacket which carry the conductive layer, and the outer core which is the substrate material. The core acts like the conductor, while the outer core is what provides the interface between the core and the substrate layer. There are many types of fiber cores, including optical fibers and polymeric fibers. Omron's fiber splicer products provide both fusion splicing apparatus and fusion termination procedures.
